Lauren is so knowledgeable about the benefits of play and truly advocates for the inclusive nature of child-led play. With her advocacy, our school was able to start a wonderful outdoor play space with open-ended tools and materials. My students on the Autism spectrum LOVE being in the area to explore different textures found in nature, dig in the dirt, develop pretend play skills in the mud kitchen, and observe their general education peers in more complex and imaginative play. I'd feel so comfortable asking Lauren for ideas on how to incorporate play both in and out of the classroom and trust her knowledge of child development.

“Our outdoor creative play-space is an incredibly inclusive area that promotes authentic social-emotional learning. I have watched the shy student learn to join in, the wiggly student channel their energy, and the dysregulated student be motivated to practice their strategies so they can rejoin the playing. Through loose parts, students’ creativity shapes the space around them, and the growth is endless. Lauren brings clarity, consistency, and a positive spirit to every stage of the process. Her passion and clear vision have guided the work while inspiring our team to believe deeply in the value of this project.”

“Lauren brings not only her background in education but a true passion for enabling children to learn and find joy in learning. She has a deep understanding of purposeful play and how to implement this into educational settings. Lauren was able to setup a committee of teachers in our school to start to implement this purposeful teaching. She brought training, setting up observation opportunities at other locations, and gathered excitement among staff and administrators alike. She has the drive to foster curiosity and joy in learning for children, of all backgrounds and abilities, and knows that play is considered the best way for children to learn in a very natural way. Thank you, Lauren, for building something for our children to enjoy and remember fondly!”
